How Ohio State pledges fared

John W. North (Calif.) picked up the win; Ohio State commit Marcus Baugh sizzled.

The future Buckeyes tight end kept North above .500 in a 38-0 win over Poly with a 54-yard touchdown reception on the team’s first possession. He added an 18-yard touchdown reception for good measure as North improved to 5-4.

Here’s a look at how the other 16 Ohio State commits fared:

J.T. Barrett: The Rider (Texas) quarterback is out rest of season with torn ACL and meniscus. Rider lost 21-10 to Guyer. Joey Bosa: St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) defensive end helped Raiders rally past Plantation in 24-20 win.

Cam Burrows: Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) cornerback made 2 tackles and kept Vandalia Butler out of end zone in 27-3 win by Rams. Victory clinched playoff berth for defending state champions as well.

Ezekiel Elliott: Running back and John Burroughs (Mo.) picked up forfeit win in playoffs when Confluence didn’t have enough academically eligible players to field a team.

Tim Gardner: Offensive tackle and Lawrence Central (Ind.) moved to Class 5A Sectional Championship in 21-14 win over Warren Central. He helped quarterback Drake Christen run for 150 yards and touchdown in victory.

Michael Hill: Pendleton (S.C.) defensive tackle done for season with hand injury. Pendleton beat Landrum 38-21 to qualify for postseason.

Taivon Jacobs: Wide receiver/defensive back picked off pass and scored 25-yard touchdown in 29-12 win by Forestville (Md.) over Bowie. Victory clinched playoff spot.

Darron Lee: Safety/quarterback and New Albany (Ohio) clinched playoff berth with 38-14 win over Mount Vernon. Lee was at forefront of team that gained 422 yards total offense.

Tyquan Lewis: Defensive end/linebacker kept Tarboro (N.C.) undefeated in 34-0 win over Beddingfield. Both teams face each other again this week in Class 2A playoffs.

Evan Lisle: Offensive tackle helped Centerville (Ohio) gain 380 yards -- 323 yards on the ground -- in 41-6 win over Springfield.

Jalin Marshall: Athlete finished career by rushing for 168 yards and 3 touchdowns in 41-14 win by Middletown (Ohio) over Cincinnati Princeton. He also threw for 2 touchdowns.

Billy Price: Defensive tackle helped Austintown Fitch (Ohio) clinch Division I playoff spot in 49-7 win over Cardinal Mooney. The Falcons held Mooney to 257 yards total yards offense.

Tracy Sprinkle: Elyria (Ohio) defensive tackle closed out career in style during 31-21 loss to Mayfield. Sprinkle had 19 tackles -- 5 for loss -- with sack, forced fumble and 3 quarterback hurries.

Jayme Thompson: Toledo Central Catholic (Ohio) safety was on wrong side of 49-0 loss to Toledo Whitmer.

Johnny Townsend: Punter helped Boone (Fla.) even record in 28-12 win over East River.

Eli Woodard: Cornerback and Eastern (N.J.) clinched home playoff game in 55-38 win over Winslow Township.
