A strong leg has resulted in strong interest for Sean Nuernberger.
The junior kicker from Buckner (Ky.) Oldham has been contacted by several schools that are considering signing a kicker for the 2014 class, namely Ohio State, Purdue, Notre Dame, Kentucky, Western Kentucky, and Louisville.
According to his coach, Chris Collins, Nuernberger has kicked nearly 50-percent of his kickoffs for touchbacks and routinely kicks the ball over 70 yards. He has converted on 61 of 63 PAT's this season and has kicked a 42 yard field goal.
Nuerenberger can also punt. He has averaged over 42 yards per punt with a long of 63 yards. He has had 13 punts downed in side the 20-yard line. Of his 31 punts this season, 26 have been fair caught or not returned. His net punting average is 41.84.
"What makes Sean so special as a kicker is that he is just a true athlete," Collins said of the 6-foot-2, 225-pound kicker. "He excels not only as a kicker, but is a standout in basketball and soccer."
