Meyer visits Watson, Johnson, Rogers

Urban Meyer was near his old stomping ground Friday and visited high schools with quite a few big names in the Peach State.

One of the most notable names was dual-threat quarterback and Clemson commit DeShaun Watson (Gainesville, Ga./Gainesville).

He checked in with ESPN 150 inside linebacker and Auburn commit Trey Johnson (Lawrenceville, Ga./Central Gwinnett) as well as ESPN Watch List outside linebacker Korie Rogers (Buford, Ga./Buford).

Watson continues to be the only 2014 quarterback the Buckeyes have offered, and it’s because his numbers are out of this world. In nine games, Watson has led the Red Elephants with 2,376 passing yards and 32 touchdowns. He’s completing 70 percent and is on a seven-week roll without throwing an interception.

He also leads Gainesville with 772 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns.

Johnson is having yet another stellar season with 115 tackles and 8 sacks. As a junior, he backed up a 152-tackle sophomore campaign with 164 total tackles -- 24½ for loss -- and added 6 sacks.

Rogers has a team-high 62 tackles -- 8 for loss -- and is coming off a 7-tackle week that saw him add 2 sacks.
