ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Coming off a relatively serious leg injury, Moral Stephens (Perry, Fla./Taylor County) wanted to establish some confidence.
Being unable to run around at top speed like he used to was frustrating. But at the Under Armour Combine, he finally got a chance to do that again with some of the top juniors in the country.
"I am feeling pretty good," he said. "I am just wanting to prove myself that I am healthy and all of that. I am still in good shape."
Stephens has early offers from Arkansas, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State and Vanderbilt, but none of them really stick out for now.
"Really, I am just enjoying it," he said. "I don't really have any favorites yet."
Being located near in-state schools Florida and Florida State is convenient, but not a decider. Though his mom would like him to stay close so she can see him play, Stephens knows he has to make the right choice for him.
"My mom wants me to stay close to home so I am going to try my best," he said. "There are a lot of schools, though. Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama. I like those."
Because Taylor County operates in a spread system, Stephens feels like that would be a good fit for him at the next level.
"I would probably like playing in the spread just because I am comfortable in that. It is what we run in high school."
