Ohio State’s linebacker situation regarding the class of 2013 is no longer an issue. The defensive backfield received a nice pickup as well from the class of 2014.
When outside linebacker Christopher Worley gave his yes to the school on Friday during an official visit, and cornerback Damon Webb did the same Sunday on an unofficial one, many questions were answered.
Vonn Bell didn’t walk away with a commitment, but the news coming out of Columbus, Ohio wasn’t bad as the ESPN 150 safety really liked his visit and has the Buckeyes still in the mix.
The same went for ESPN 300 wide receiver Shelton Gibson, who got reacquainted with former teammate and current Ohio State Buckeye Kyle Dodson.
Sunday was a busy day, as things started out with the Buckeyes checking in on Smyrna Beach (Fla.) wide receiver James Clark, who was on an official visit in Nebraska.
It also came with a last-minute official visitor as ESPN 300 offensive guard Cameron Hunt made his way to campus after an official visit with that school up north.
On Friday, we learned exactly what Worley was going to bring to the team and also found out that ESPN 300 wide receiver Ryan Timmons wasn’t making a trip to Columbus. Later in the weekend, Timmons, who doesn’t have an Ohio State offer, was on Kentucky’s campus taking in a Wildcats basketball game.
A bunch of Georgia Peaches, as well as ESPN Watch List Jamarco Jones, confirmed they would be coming to Ohio State’s junior day on Feb. 10.
The Buckeyes fullback position also increased by one with the transfer of Devin Hill.
It wasn’t all about the official visits of Bell, Gibson, Corey Smith and Cornelius Elder, as some big-name juniors made unofficial visits this weekend.
On Thursday, ESPN Watch List wide receiver Thaddeus Snodgrass explained the reason for his delay on a commitment, while the final ESPN 150 and 300 lists came out with Ohio State yet again ahead of Michigan in terms of individuals represented.
On Wednesday, an offer went out to big 2014 defensive end Lawrence Marshall, and Roderick Jones picked up one as well.
On the hardwood, ESPN 60 junior Justin Jackson also put the Buckeyes in his final six.
Tuesday, ESPN Watch List junior Todd Kelly Jr. put Ohio State in his top 10, but Da’Shawn Hand kept the Buckeyes off his top five. We also found out about junior tailback Matt Domer.
