Juco RB Aaron Wimberly plans 2 officials

Tailback Aaron Wimberly (Council Bluffs, Iowa/Iowa Western C.C.) hasn't yet ruled out becoming a Nittany Lion.

The Iowa State commit will take his first official visit on Nov. 17 for Penn State's home game against Indiana. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound juco will follow that up with an official one week later with the Cyclones.

"I'm just trying to compare schools right now," Wimberly said. "Me taking a visit will give me a better idea. I just want to make sure I'm making the right decision."

Wimberly's teammate -- and roommate -- quarterback Jake Waters said in a text he hasn't yet planned his official visits. But he acknowledged taking one to Happy Valley with Wimberly was certainly a possibility.

Wimberly said he and Waters discuss playing on the same FBS team "every day." Currently, Penn State is the only university to offer both players.

"Oh yeah, it'd be cool to be in the same backfield," the speedy tailback added. "Whether we're going to do that or not, we always talk about it."

Through seven games, Wimberly has rushed 87 times for 746 yards and eight touchdowns. He's averaging 8.6 yards a carry, and he said Penn State's coaches told him they have plenty of bruisers -- but they want a smaller, elusive back. Wimberly fits the bill.

The Georgia native said he has no timetable for his decision. For now, he just plans to focus on his season with Iowa Western and see how his official visits go.

He still could elect to spend an official on Boise State, but he's visiting just two schools for now.

"Honestly, right now, I'm not sure when I'll [decide]," he said.
