Defensive tackle Marquel Combs -- who earned new offers from Penn State and Michigan State on Wednesday -- said he plans to take one more official visit before making a decision.
The junior college prospect from Woodland Hills (Calif.) Pierce College said he's deciding between four schools for that final visit, but he declined to name them. He wants to talk with his mom, sit down with his coaches and release an answer next week.
He's already made official visits to Kansas, Ole Miss and Washington State, with another planned for Kansas State this weekend.
"I can't really say where I'm going to go," he said. "I just got to sit down and think it over. I don't want to jump on nothing right now. I just want to enjoy it."
Combs wouldn't say whether Penn State was still in the running. Again, he said that's something he would address next week.
For now, the 6-foot-3, 310-pound prospect said he wanted to slow down his recruitment and not get too overwhelmed. He already boasts more than two dozen offers, and he knows the pressure to decide will catch up with him soon enough.
He plans to enroll in a school for January, which means Dec. 19 is his deadline for a decision.
"The Penn State offer, I felt proud by it," he said. "I was happy. It felt like Penn State really wanted me, so that's good."
In 10 games, facing mostly double-teams, the defensive tackle finished with 19 tackles, 7.5 tackles-for-loss, two sacks and one pass breakup.
