Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin will not miss any practice this week because of an injured right elbow, he said in a text message Sunday afternoon.
"All good," he said. "Just a bruise."
The fifth-year senior entered the locker room late in the first half when his right elbow glanced off a defender's helmet. True freshman Steven Bench came on in relief, but McGloin returned in the third quarter.
He finished 19-of-35 for 197 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions with a bandaged arm and a pad on that elbow.
McGloin said he "won't miss anything" this week, and that bodes well for an offense that was further limited without him on the field. Bench was 2-for-7 for 12 yards and was sacked once as the backup.
Penn State's next opponent, Navy, should be an easier test for McGloin and the Nittany Lions. The Midshipmen's pass defense was ranked No. 67 last year, and it allowed 197 yards against Notre Dame in Week 1.
