First glance: South Carolina State

Campus location: Orangeburg, S.C.

Nickname: Bulldogs

Conference: MEAC

Record: 1-2

Record vs. Texas A&M: 0-0 (this will be the teams' first meeting)

Last week: The Bulldogs were shut out on the road, 56-0 by Arizona. They were held to eight first downs and 154 total offensive yards in the loss. Quarterback Richard Cue threw for 89 yards and no individual rushed for more than 24.

Key player: Junior linebacker Joe Thomas leads the team with 25 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Last season, he led the Bulldogs with 100 tackles.

Why South Carolina State might win: Because you never know. FCS teams have beat FBS teams before, including this season (Sacramento State over Colorado, for example).

Why South Carolina State might lose: Because Texas A&M isn't Colorado. The Aggies are more talented, deeper and they're at home. Barring a total meltdown, this should be a relatively comfortable win for the Aggies.
