Each week throughout the season, GigEmNation will take a look at the Aggies players that are on awards watch lists and how they fare. Here's a glance at what each player has accomplished through two games after the Aggies' recent win against SMU:
CB Dustin Harris, Sr. (Hornung)
Harris appeared to get into a groove in the return game on Saturday. He had six punt returns for 86 yards, including a 36-yard return, a season-high for him. Harris now has eight returns for 81 yards this season. He also started at cornerback as a result of Steven Campbell's suspension, which pushed Deshazor Everett from corner to Campbell's safety spot. Harris finished with three tackles and a pass breakup.
RB Christine Michael, Sr (Maxwell, Doak Walker)
Like Campbell, Michael was suspended for the SMU game for a violation of team rules.
DE Damontre Moore, Jr. (Hendricks)
Moore had followed his strong showing against Florida with another one against SMU, collecting six tackles and two sacks. For the season, Moore has 16 tackles and five sacks, good for second nationally.
WR Uzoma Nwachukwu, Sr. (Biletnikoff)
After a quiet first game, Nwachukwu got into the offensive mix on Saturday, catching two passes for 38 yards and a touchdown.
LB Sean Porter, Sr. (Bednarik, Butkus)
Porter had five tackles in the win over SMU. He now has 12 for the season to go with a half-sack.
WR Ryan Swope, Sr. (Biletnikoff)
For the second consecutive game, Swope had five receptions, but this time he was able to make big things happen when he got the football. Swope had 70 receiving yards and a touchdown. That gives him 86 yards on the season on 10 catches.
