Focus on '14: Linebackers

GigEmNation is taking a weekly position-by-position look at the 2014 recruiting class as it relates to Texas A&M, whom the Aggies are targeting, as well as 2013 commits and who on the roster will graduate. Today, we look at the linebacker position.

2013 commits: Reggie Chevis, Houston Sharpstown; Darian Claiborne, Port Allen (La.) High School; Brett Wade, Kennedale (Texas) High School; Edward Williams, New Orleans Warren Easton.

Linebackers who'll graduate: Sean Porter, Jonathan Stewart

2014 targets:

Dillon Bates, Ponte Vedra Beach (Florida) High School: Bates is a 6-foot-3, 195-pound outside linebacker who holds offers from a number of ACC programs (Georgia Tech, Miami, Virginia, Wake Forest) as well as some SEC schools (South Carolina, Tennessee). He does hold an offer from the Aggies.

Cameron Hampton, Dallas Carter: The ESPN Watch List member stands 6-2, 215 and plays outside linebacker. He has offers from several schools including Texas A&M. Among the others: Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, and West Virginia. Hampton has a top four right now that consists of LSU, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M.

Hoza Scott, La Porte (Texas) High School: The 6-3, 225-pound inside linebacker is one of the state's most sought-after 2014 recruits. The ESPN Watch List member holds numerous offers, a list highlighted by Alabama, LSU, Texas and Texas A&M. Throughout the summer and early fall, Scott has maintained that A&M is his leader with Texas and LSU coming after.

Zac Whitley, Houston North Shore: The ESPN Watch List member a 6-2, 220 inside linebacker. He holds offers from the Aggies and Texas. He has visited the Longhorns but hasn't yet visited Texas A&M.
