Seals-Jones enjoys LSU-Texas A&M game

Another recruit that attended the LSU-Texas A&M game was ESPN 150 receiver Ricky Seals-Jones.

The Sealy (Texas) High School star, who is No. 10 in the ESPN 150 and ranked as the No. 1 receiver in the nation, took in the game with his parents Chester and Buffy by his side. The ESPN cameras even found Seals-Jones and showed him and his family during the telecast.

Overall, it seems that Seals-Jones' experience at Kyle Field was a positive one.

"He liked it," Chester Jones said. "Afterward he said 'I enjoyed that.' "

And it wasn't just the cameras that recognized him, but plenty of fans, too.

"We were walking in there and some of the people recognized Ricky," Chester said. "A few people hollered at him 'Sure hope you decide to come to A&M.' "

After the game Seals-Jones, who has a top two of the Aggies and LSU, met with members of the A&M football coaching staff. During the trip, he also had the chance to visit with men's basketball head coach Billy Kennedy. Seals-Jones is a two-sport star at Sealy and has expressed the desire to play both football and basketball at the college level.

"They were glad to see him come to the game and hoped he enjoyed himself at the game," Chester Jones said. "We even talked to the basketball coach, met him on the field, met his wife. He came by and said hello and told Ricky that he hopes he has a chance to get him and have him come down that way and help him out. He's a nice guy. We met him in the summer, we met him a couple of times."

This week will mark Seals-Jones' return to the field after suffering a dislocated knee on Sept. 6 against Houston St. Pius X. Seals-Jones has been medically cleared for play after a recent doctor's visit.

"They released him Thursday," Chester Jones said. "He had been running in practice but he wasn't cleared for contact. ... He's ready to go now."
