Texas A&M's momentum in the 2014 recruiting class continues to build.
The Aggies made their fourth addition to the class on Thursday morning, landing ESPN Watch List running back Shaun Nixon of Austin (Texas) Lake Travis. Nixon confirmed the news to RecruitingNation via text message.
The 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back had five offers in total, with the others coming from Baylor, Clemson, SMU and Texas Tech. He was also receiving interest from TCU, Oklahoma, Alabama and Texas.
Nixon was recruited by Texas A&M running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Clarence McKinney. Since the Aggies offered, Nixon has stated several times that he and McKinney built a strong relationship, and Nixon even commented after his unofficial visit in September for Texas A&M's game against Florida that he was close to committing to the Aggies then.
He is the second 2014 ESPN Watch List prospect to commit to Texas A&M this week. Lancaster (Texas) High School Nick Harvey pledged on Monday. They join Dallas Skyline cornerback Cedric Collins and Gilmer (Texas) High School linebacker Josh Walker in the Aggies' 2014 class. Three of the four are ESPN Watch List prospects.
