Texas A&M commitment and ESPN 150 member Derrick Griffin (Rosenberg, Texas/Terry) said Tuesday that, contrary to online reports, he has not decommitted from the Aggies. He did add that he is looking around at other schools.
In response to an online report quoting Griffin as saying that he had "reopened his commitment," Griffin told ESPN.com when reached via phone Tuesday that he hasn't rescinded his commitment.
"I didn't say nothing like that," Griffin said. "I said my mind is still open."
Griffin, a receiver projected by scouts to be a hybrid tight end, is ranked No. 29 in the ESPN 150 and ranked the No. 3 player in Texas. He is the No. 1-rated tight end in his class.
He is a dual-sport star for Terry and is currently with his AAU basketball team, the Houston Defenders.
Griffin has offers from Baylor, LSU, Oklahoma and Texas Tech.
