Board Meeting: April 4, 2012

Welcome to your daily Board Meeting. Each evening we’ll update you on the day’s hottest topics on the HornsNation forum.

1. Quick but important Torrodney Prevot note: William Wilkerson reported on a tweet from Prevot stating that he has decided to wait until possibly October to announce his commitment.

Is that a good thing for Texas? Tough to say. It’s going to be a fight to the finish for Prevot between Texas, A&M and LSU, but the Longhorns can afford to dig in here and commit to getting his commitment. As Wilkerson points out, Texas class is loaded as is and the staff is prioritizing its targets. They’ve started reaching out to DBs and an offer could go to Vincent Taylor, but if Prevot stays interested in becoming a Longhorn, Texas will stay after him.

He should take his time on this decision. What do you think?

2. Let’s talk about the 2013 clas …: HornsNation might have to hire crose2272. This user posted his recruiting breakdown with a few tough questions. Which of the remaining recruits do we see committing? Who is the most important?

Thankfully the tough final decisions are on the Texas coaches because this discussion veered into what happens if Texas loses one of these targets and which guys would the Longhorns then go after. Kiljare rightly points out that it seems Cole Luke, Vincent Taylor and Trent Gow seem to be on deck to get offers, and honestly, they all could get offers anyway.

And then there is Robert Nkemdiche -- possibly the biggest name in the 2013 class. Many of the posters want the Longhorns to crank up the recruiting since he has stated his interest in Texas.

3. Demarcus Holland official visit: Texas will get an official visit from 6-foot-3 shooting guard Demarcus Holland over the weekend. He is a teammate of Longhorns commit Prince Ibeh, and he recently decommitted from USF.

Texas has a scholarship available and adding a backcourt player with Myck Kabongo might just be a good plan for Texas.

HornsNation will have more on Holland and hoops recruiting on Friday. Log on to give us your take.
