Spring football has long been over for Texas but has wrapped up now for the rest of the country as well.
ESPN.com's College Football Insider takes a look at some players who had breakthrough performances this spring. Among them was Texas defensive tackle Brandon Moore.
Here is Haney's assessment:
Alex Okafor and Jackson Jeffcoat are among the known commodities on the Longhorns' defense, but get familiar with 6-6, 330-pound defensive tackle Brandon Moore. He could have the same effect on Manny Diaz's defense that, say, Terrence Cody had for Alabama in 2009.
That's an apropos comparison, considering Nick Saban signed Moore to help replace Cody in Tuscaloosa. He played some his redshirt freshman season at Bama before getting into trouble. Moore then decided to transfer, eventually landing at Texas.
