One 2014 running back to keep an eye on in the Lone Star State is Corey Avery of Dallas Carter.
Plenty of schools have already caught on.
"Utah, Texas, Texas Tech, Baylor and Oklahoma State so far," Avery said.
Texas was the only one of those schools that Avery has visited. He made his way to Austin for the spring game.
He plans on returning to Austin this summer to attend a camp. Avery also mentioned camping at Texas Tech, Baylor and TCU.
Whatever it takes to continue to improve, Avery said. He rushed 62 times for 310 yards and three touchdowns as a junior under a new coaching staff. Carter coaches rave about his abilities and could see him becoming one of the all-time greats at the tradition-rich program.
"I probably have a ways to go before I get there," he said. "But I am working as hard as I can to be the best back Carter has ever had."
