Pac-12 Week 10: Did you know?

Some notes to get you through the hours until Saturday. Thanks to ESPN Stats & Information for many of these numbers.

  • It’s the calm before the storm since eight teams ranked in the BCS Standings are idle this week, including five in the top 10 and four of the top six. Things change quickly though. Next Thursday features top-10 matchups between Oklahoma-Baylor and Oregon-Stanford. On Saturday, top-ranked Alabama hosts LSU. All six of those teams are idle this week.

  • Arizona's and California's series is tied 14-14-2, and they have split their last four meetings. This is the Bears and Wildcats first meeting since a 10-9 Arizona win in 2010.

  • Wildcats junior RB Ka'Deem Carey is 80 yards shy of reaching 1,000 for the season. When he reaches that mark, he’ll become the third running back in school history to post multiple seasons with 1,000 yards rushing. He’ll join Art Luppino (1954, 55) and Trung Canidate (1998, 1999).

  • Carey has an FBS-leading active streak of 10 consecutive games with 100 or more rushing yards, which ties Canidate’s school record set during the 1999 season. Carey has 39 career rushing TDs, second on the school’s all-time list and tied for 14th all time in the Pac-12.

  • UCLA is looking to start 4-0 at home for the first time since 2006.

  • UCLA QB Brett Hundley is glad to get off the road. Hundley struggled in the last two games at Stanford and at Oregon, throwing for 128 YPG with two passing touchdowns and four interceptions. In three home starts this season, Hundley is averaging 321 Pass YPG, with eight TDs and two interceptions.

  • Hundley has also been sacked an FBS-high 68 times since the start of last season, 10 more than anyone else in the FBS. The good news for Bruins' fans -- Colorado has just nine sacks on the season (T-111th in FBS).

  • Colorado has lost four of its last five games following a 2-0 start, with the only win coming over an FCS opponent (Charleston Southern). Since Week 5, Colorado has been outscored by 33.2 PPG against FBS opponents. That is the largest negative scoring margin against FBS opponents over that span. (Southern Miss has the worst since Week 5, minus-34 PPG).

  • Colorado has lost 12 straight games vs ranked opponents overall, and 20 straight road games vs ranked opponents. The last time Colorado defeated a ranked opponent on the road was a win at No. 20 UCLA in 2002.

  • UCLA leads the all-time series, 6-2, including both meetings since the Buffaloes joined the Pac-12. The Bruins have outscored the Buffaloes in the last two meetings by a combined total of 87-20.

  • USC and Oregon State have traded wins and losses in each of their last six meetings with the Beavers winning the most recent matchup in 2010, 36-7. Oregon State has not won consecutive meetings with the Trojans since winning the first two meetings in series history in 1914 and 1916.

  • Despite its stronghold on the all-time series, USC has struggled in Corvallis of late. The Trojans have lost three straight and four of their last five road meetings with Oregon State dating to 2000. USC’s only road win against the Beavers over that span came in 2004 en route to winning the BCS National Championship.

  • USC is 2-1 under interim head coach Ed Orgeron and a big difference since he’s taken over has been the defense. The Trojans are allowing five fewer points per game than they did under Lane Kiffin and rank among the Top 10 in the FBS in turnover margin and opponent “three-and-out” percentage since the start of Week 7.

  • Oregon State QB Sean Mannion and WR Brandin Cooks have been college football’s most productive QB-receiver duo in 2013. They lead all FBS tandems in completions (85) and receiving yards (1,256) and are tied with Fresno State’s Derek Carr and Davante Adams with 13 touchdown receptions this season.

  • Cooks leads the FBS with 85 receptions and 1,256 receiving yards and is tied for the lead with 13 receiving touchdown. He has caught a touchdown pass in all but one game. Sean Mannion has targeted Cooks on 27 percent of his pass attempts, and he is completing nearly 80 percent of those passes.
