After being ranked No. 1 in Mark Schlabach's last version of his way-too-early preseason top 25, the Trojans fell a spot to No. 2 in the version that was released on Friday. That version, which can be read here, dropped the Trojans behind BCS championship game loser LSU, citing tough road tests against Stanford and Washington along with November home dates against Oregon and Notre Dame as reasons for the Trojans' minor slippage.
Oregon (No. 4), Stanford (No. 12) and Washington (No. 21) were the other Pac-12 teams ranked in Schlabach's latest poll.
