USC Class of 2012 signee Darreus Rogers from Carson (Calif.) High School sent out an update through social media today indicating he has been academically cleared.
“I’m a Trojan just got cleared lets go,” Rogers said via his Twitter account, @D_Rog5.
Rogers had been forced to retake a class this summer due to issues with getting cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse. He had met with USC school officials in August to review his academic status and was confident at that time about eventually being cleared.
It’s unclear at this point if Rogers will join USC for the fall semester or if he will wait until spring. The Trojans have to be at the 75-man roster limit for the fall semester per NCAA sanctions, and it appeared the roster was full for the Hawaii game last week.
There has been no word from USC school officials, as the Trojans are flying to New Jersey this afternoon for the Syracuse game on Saturday in East Rutherford, N.J.
Rogers was an All-City wide receiver last season for Carson.
