USC's fab five in NFL draft

LOS ANGELES – When the “Fab 5” label is used, it generally refers to the 1991 Michigan basketball recruiting class that included Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King, Juwan Howard and Ray Jackson.

However, when it comes to USC football history -- specifically the NFL draft -- the storied Trojans have their own version of the Fab 5, which is the number of former members of the Cardinal and Gold who were the overall No. 1 selection in pro football’s ballyhooed offseason extravaganza.

This week's NFL draft from New York's Radio City Music Hall won’t feature a Trojans No. 1 overall selection, but it figures there were be at least a couple of players from this past season who will be selected. It is expected that wide receiver Marqise Lee and center Marcus Martin will be picked in the early rounds.
