USC redshirt freshman defensive tackle Cody Temple will have surgery on his right ankle and will miss the remainder of spring practice, Trojans head coach Lane Kiffin announced Tuesday.
"Cody had really been playing well," Kiffin said. "He's strong at the point of attack."
Temple (6-foot-3, 280 pounds) arrived to USC last year as an offensive line prospect but was moved to defensive line during this past off-season due to a lack of available bodies in the interior of the line. He has been lining up at both nose guard and defensive tackle this spring.
