After sending out his highlight tape to schools, Class of 2015 running back Jacques Patrick (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek) had been waiting to hear back from USC for quite some time.
Patrick heard back from the Trojans on Monday night, receiving a verbal offer from assistant coach Tee Martin.
"USC is one of the offers I really wanted," Patrick said. "To finally get it is a blessing. I've been patient and been trying to get in touch with them. They reviewed my film and said they'd love to have me. They believe I can dominate the Pac-12, and they think I can play right away. They run a pro-style offense. My style is downhill running, and that's what they run. That's a plus for sure."
Patrick said Martin revealed another exciting snippet.
"I'm No. 1 on their board for 2015, so that's good," the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Patrick said.
Patrick said he now has 12 verbal offers, with USC joining the likes of Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami (Fla.), Tennessee, South Florida, UCF and Vanderbilt.
This past summer, Patrick took unofficial visits to Alabama, Georgia and Florida State. Next summer, he plans to make it to USC and LSU, among others.
"I'm not separating schools right now," Patrick said, "but when it comes down to narrowing my choices, USC will be there for sure."
