Five key games featuring USC recruits

Here are this week’s top five high school football games featuring USC recruits:

Lake Forest (Calif.) El Toro at Mission Viejo (Calif.): The South Coast League comes down to this battle between 9-0 squads. USC safety commit Max Redfield isn’t often tested, but that figures to change this week. El Toro’s pass-happy offense is led by record-setting quarterback Conner Manning, a Utah commit.

Temecula (Calif.) Chaparral at Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta: Vista Murrieta coach Coley Candaele has been conservative with his use of Trojans safety commit Su’a Cravens on offense, opting instead to save his star for the stretch run. Expect Cravens to bust out in the regular-season finale. Vista Murrieta (9-0), the No. 8 team in the ESPN 25 power rankings, beat Chaparral (7-2) last year, 27-10. The game will be streamed online via Fox Sports West’s PrepZone Live platform. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Catholic at Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco: Last week, USC offensive line commit Nico Falah led St. John Bosco (5-4) to its first victory over Anaheim (Calif.) Servite in nearly a decade. Now, the Braves have the Trinity League title within reach. Santa Margarita (8-1), the former No. 1 team in the country, hasn’t been nearly the same since Nebraska quarterback commit Johnny Stanton went down with a knee injury. The game will be televised locally on Time Warner Cable, channel 101. Check your local listings.

Tinley Park (Ill.) at Joliet (Ill.) Catholic Academy, Saturday: Ty Isaac didn’t play in the final two regular-season games, but the Trojans' running back commit returned last week to score three touchdowns in a 58-0 playoff victory against Elmwood Park (Ill.). Tinley (6-4) will attempt to pull off the upset in the Class 5A bracket.

Puyallup (Wash.) at Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline, Saturday: Future Trojans quarterback Max Browne needs six completions to pass former Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore (Prosser, Wash.) on the state's all-time list for completions. Skyline (9-0) opens the playoffs as the top-seeded team in Division 4A, while Puyallup (4-6) advanced with a midweek win against Kent (Wash.) Kent-Meridian in the play-in game.
