Key games featuring USC recruits

After Nico Falah (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco), Chris Hawkins (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Rancho Cucamonga) and Torrodney Prevot (Houston, Texas/Alief Taylor) were eliminated from the playoffs last week, only four USC commits remain in contention for championships. Here are this week’s title games featuring Trojans commits:

Corona (Calif.) Centennial at Murrieta (Calif.) Vista Murrieta, Friday: Top-rated safety Su’a Cravens has the opportunity to add another ring to his collection in the CIF Southern Section Inland Division championship. Vista Murrieta (13-0) defeated Centennial (12-1) in the title game last year after losing to the perennial power in 2010. The game will be televised nationally by Fox Sports Net beginning at 7 p.m. PT.

Concord (Calif.) De La Salle vs. Union City (Calif.) Logan at Dublin High School, Saturday: Four-star linebacker Michael Hutchings and De La Salle (12-0) are at it again in CIF North Coast Division I. A win Saturday would give DLS its 21st consecutive NCS title. Logan (12-1), which features Northwestern running back commit Warren Miles-Long, seeks the upset.

Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline vs. Tacoma (Wash.) Bellarmine Prep at the Tacoma Dome, Saturday: USC quarterback commit Max Browne of Skyline (13-0) has the chance to cement his legacy as one of the state’s all-time greats. He can leave for college as a back-to-back WIAA Division 4A champion with a victory Saturday against Bellarmine Prep (12-1).

Louisville (Ky.) Pleasure Ridge Park vs. Louisville (Ky.) Trinity at Houchens Industries/L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green, Ky., Saturday: Four-star defensive end Jason Hatcher and Trinity (12-1) squeaked their way into the KHSAA Class 6A championship with some slim-margin victories after suffering an unexpected loss in the regular season finale. Pleasure Ridge Park (14-0) hasn’t faced nearly as strong a schedule, but is undefeated nonetheless.
