Duke gets final shot at Amile Jefferson

The Duke Blue Devils will get the final crack at Amile Jefferson (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Central).

Jefferson, No. 18 overall, heads to Durham for the Blue Devils game against North Carolina on March 3. Two years ago, Jefferson visited Duke for Midnight Madness so this is a return trip.

Jefferson, a McDonald’s All-American, has his list down to five: Duke, NC State, Villanova, Kentucky and Ohio State. He’s had a difficult time making a decision and within the last few months, Duke re-entered the picture and further complicated the situation.

“He hasn’t moved from where he was,” Malcolm Musgrove, Jefferson’s father said. “He finished up his season on Saturday. Our plan is to sit down this weekend and work some things out. He’s going to take a visit to Duke next week. I think after that after that he’ll be able to wrap it up.”

Jefferson, a slashing and efficient combo forward, has many in the recruiting business guessing. He’s been relatively quiet and the process appears to be weighing on him.

“I haven’t gotten (who leads) out of him,” Musgrove said. “There’s no order to the madness.”
