Let’s make this clear up front: Chicago Cubs speedster Emilio Bonifacio is not exactly a great baseball player. However, the Cubs have played two games and Bonifacio has nine hits and three stolen bases already. He’s the fourth guy in 85 years to start a season with consecutive four-hit efforts, the first since Dante Bichette in 1998.
Bonifacio is no Bichette. He’s really not very good, but last season two big league franchises thought it was a good idea -- or just didn’t care -- to let Bonifacio go to home plate 461 times, and the guy is fast.
