Indiana's rebuild ahead of schedule

NEW YORK -- This is supposed to be a rebuilding year for Indiana. It lost four starters from last season's team, including two of the top four picks in the NBA draft. The Hoosiers weren’t supposed to be able to sustain a high ranking after the departures of Victor Oladipo and sophomore big man Cody Zeller, not to mention those of crucial seniors Christian Watford and Jordan Hulls.

And it still could wind up being a down year of sorts -- certainly if it's compared to the last two in Bloomington. But after another close look at the Hoosiers last night, I'll say it’s far too early to count this team out.
