Will Syracuse be better in 2013-14?

Coach Jim Boeheim lost a lottery pick, the team’s top perimeter shooter, and a senior who started more games than anyone else in Syracuse history.

Yet the Orange have a chance to be more successful than last season, when they wound up winning 30 games and advancing to the Final Four.

Gone is Michael Carter-Williams, the exceptionally talented, long and lean point guard who wound up being drafted No. 11 overall by the Philadelphia 76ers. Departed is James Southerland, the 6-foot-8 wing who buried 84 trifectas last season. Also history is Brandon Triche, who scored more than 1,500 points in his four-year college career.

However, this Cuse team could be better.
