Here is an update on the performances of USC players who have been named to various college football award watch lists:
LB Dion Bailey, So. (Bednarik, Nagurski, Lombardi, Butkus): Bailey contributed in many ways, tying for second on the team with seven tackles, intercepting an early pass and causing a late fumble.
QB Matt Barkley, Sr. (Camp, Maxwell, O’Brien): It was a pedestrian night by Barkley standards. He completed 10 of 20 passes for 167 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
PK Andre Heidari, So. (Groza): Hit 1-of-2 attempts on the day. He was good from 23 yards in the first quarter but had a 41-yard attempt blocked in the third.
C Khaled Holmes, Sr. (Rimington): The Trojans ran for 204 yards, which was excellent, and Holmes once again played the whole game with no noticeable effects from an early-season injury.
WR Marqise Lee, So. (Biletnikoff, Maxwell): Lee was limited to two catches for 32 yards.
DB T.J. McDonald, Sr. (Thorpe, Camp, Bednarik, Nagurski, Lott): Had his usual effective game leading the USC defense with nine tackles, including one tackle for loss.
WR Robert Woods, Jr. (Biletnikoff, Camp, Maxwell): Led the Trojans with five catches for 88 yards.
RB Curtis McNeal, Sr. (Maxwell, Walker): Made a key contribution with 11 carries for 58 yards.
LB Hayes Pullard, So. (Lombardi): Tied for second on the team with seven tackles.
RB Silas Redd, Jr. (Camp, Maxwell, Walker): Had a game that brought back memories of Tailback U with his heavy workload: 26 carries, 155 yards, one touchdown.
DB Nickell Robey, Jr. (Bednarik, Nagurski, Thorpe): Was limited to one tackle.
DL Wes Horton, Sr. (Lombardi): Only had one tackle and one sack but continues to play well after returning from injury.
