Can Creighton win the Big East?

UPDATE: Last week, we discussed Creighton's chances of taking down the new version of the Big East. With decorated forward Doug McDermott forgoing an early jump to the NBA so he can return to school for his senior season, the Bluejays are certainly capable of making a strong push for the top spot in the conference. And now Grant Gibbs has been given a sixth year of eligibility as well. That means Creighton keeps its top distributor for one more year -- a player who, at 6-foot-5, causes matchup problems while making the offense run more efficiently. It all adds up to the Jays being even stronger now than they were just a few days ago, when our own John Gasaway had them projected near the very top of the league anyway. With Gibbs back, they'll be even tougher to beat.
