Marquette mining Chicago?

When Isaac Chew abruptly left Illinois and decided to trek to Marquette last May, it was widely assumed the Golden Eagles would begin heavily recruiting Illinois, and in particular, Chicago. Marquette had already been a popular choice for many Chicago natives -- current freshman Steve Taylor suits up for the Big East squad -- but when Chew decided to forgo Illinois, a program that he had just decided to work for, and become an assistant to Buzz Williams, it was seen as a sign in the recruiting world that Marquette would be a frequent competitor for Chicago and Illinois prospects.
