Jordan exerting control over the NYC-area

Everyone has heard of Isaiah Whitehead, a guard out of the famed Lincoln High School, who has long been on the national radar and has worked hard to develop his game in his final go-around on the AAU level. However, when it comes to the next top player from the NYC-area, it is a bit of a toss-up. Both Mike Williams and Khadeen Carrington, teammates at Bishop Loughlin, are generally regarded as the second or third best prospects in the Big Apple (their ranking regularly switches), and while Carrington will likely not announce where he is going to college until just before his senior high school season tips, Williams wanted to finalize his college plans before the school year began. There was an assumption among those who follow recruiting in the NYC-area that St. John's would be the frontrunner for both guards, so it was somewhat surprising when Williams recently committed to Rutgers (even though the Scarlet Knights were the first high-major program to recruit the guard).
