On the evening of the first round of the 2010 MLB draft, MLB draft bloggers Jason A. Churchill and Keith Law will provide pick-by-pick analysis in the first round.

Before diving into the analysis, here are some key resources related to the 2010 MLB draft:

And now, analysis of Mike Foltynewicz going No. 19 to the Houston Astros:

Churchill: Foltynewicz pitches in the low-90s primarily and currently employs a change and low-to-mid 70s curveball. Our draft board says he was not the next best prep arm available, that being Barstow's Aaron Sanchez and then Tyrell Jenkins and A.J. Cole, but he's 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds and could end up sitting in the 93-96 mph range as he develops physically and makes adjustments in the delivery.

"Folty" is a Texas commit, but Keith wrote this spring that he's signable if taken in the Top 50, which is what just occured.
