Manny Ramirez, who will be 41 years old in May, wants to play in 2013, tweets Jon Morosi of FOXSports.com, news that will likely start a mini firestorm over which team may be willing to give the veteran a shot.
Ramirez is certainly going to have to settle for a minor league deal with an invite to camp, especially considering he's had just 17 big-league plate appearances since the end of the 2010 season. Ramirez is also likely to be viewed as a designated hitter only, which limits him to American League clubs.
Might the Tampa Bay Rays invite Ramirez back one more time? How about the Blue Jays, Orioles or Rangers? The Yankees don't appear to have any room for a DH, nor do the Mariners. The A's, who had Ramirez in camp a year ago before releasing him in June, appear to have younger options.
