Implications of Josh Johnson's season

If there's a silver lining in the news today by Gregor Chisholm and Evan Peaslee of MLB.com that Josh Johnson (strained right forearm) has officially been ruled out for the rest of the season, it's that things can't get any worse this season than they already have been for the 29-year-old hurler.

But that might be the only positive to take away in a year that was otherwise awful; Johnson made only 16 starts with the Jays, won only twice and was knocked around for a 6.20 ERA and 1.66 WHIP. As ugly as it was, it's the impact it could have on the market for Johnson -- who becomes a free agent this winter -- that now figures to be even uglier.
