Strasburg back for Nats?

Though the odds are slim for the Nationals earning a postseason berth, they aren't entirely out of it yet (5 games back). And help for a final push appears on the way. According to Washington manager Davey Johnson, Stephen Strasburg will pitch tomorrow night against the Marlins. This determination was made after he passed a throwing test Friday. The right-hander has been out since Sept. 8 due to forearm tightness, and was scratched yesterday for precautionary reasons.

“He tried to talk me out of it,” Johnson told the Washington Post yesterday. “I said no. Play catch a couple more days. I don’t want to take any chances with you.”

It's been another strong season for Strasburg in Washington. He boasts a 2.96 ERA with 181 Ks and a 1.04 WHIP over 28 starts and should continue to help a Nationals squad that is 14-4 in the month of September.
