Lincecum deal has ripple effects

The San Francisco Giants announced on Tuesday that they have signed Tim Lincecum to a two-year, $35 million contract on Tuesday -- pending a physical -- thus avoiding any possibility of Lincecum leaving via free agency after the 2014 season. In addition, the deal is said to include a full no-trade clause, meaning that if "the Freak" ends up being a sub-.500 pitcher for the fourth season in a row, the Giants would be stuck.
