Frye expected to return in 2013-14

Phoenix Suns forward Channing Frye was sidelined for all of 2012-13 due to a heart ailment. As of late July there is no reason to stop him from returning to the active roster during the upcoming season, unless further test don't come out well.

“We’re optimistic that he’ll be with us and playing,” general manager Ryan McDonough told The Arizona Republic. "Channing wants to play and the results he has gotten have been good. Obviously, we just want a consensus."

Frye is signed for two more years and is owed $13.2 million. His salary will come off the books if he's forced to retire. Should he be cleared, Frye will proved his skills as a stretch-forward off the Suns bench.
