New trade fits for Derrick Williams

Just a week after Minnesota exercised the fourth-year option on Derrick Williams, guaranteeing the former No. 2 overall pick $6.3 million in 2014-15, Wednesday's season-opener presented the first chance for everyone to see how much of a role Williams would play on this year's Timberwolves team.

Leading up to the game, many wondered if by shedding 20 pounds over the offseason Williams would become a more vital part of the rotation at small forward, even if in a bench role behind Corey Brewer.
