Birdman flies with Heat

The Miami Heat have signed Chris "Birdman" Andersen to a rest-of season contract after his second 10-day deal expired. According to The Miami Herald, head coach Erik Spoelstra said retaining the forward/center for the duration of the season was a “no-brainer.”

Miami was in need of energy, rebounding and defense off the bench and that is what Andersen has been giving the team since he signed the first 10-day contract.

The Heat now have 15 players under contract who are signed through at least the end of the season and they likely won't make anymore roster moves unless it's a minor deal by the Feb. 21 trade deadline.
