Atlanta currently has a full 15-man roster, however a spot will be available once they release Dexter Pittman early from his 10-day contract.
The Atlanta Hawks acquired the rights to center/forward Mike Muscala, the No. 44 pick, from the Dallas Mavericks as part of a draft night trade last June. Muscala played in Spain this season and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has confirmed a report that he is headed back to the U.S. to sign a contract with the Hawks.
Muscala was averaging 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds with the ABC's Blusens Monbus Obradoiro. Muscala will have to complete a buyout with the Spanish team and gain clearance from FIBA before he can sign the expected multi-year contract with the Hawks.
"Muscala is one of the more skilled players in the draft. I'm surprised he slid this far. Again, the Hawks grabbed a player who should have gone earlier considering the skill set."
