Can we expect more of the same from Gorgui Dieng?
Turns out Minnesota's rookie center can play a little. OK, more than a little.
Dieng has gone from an afterthought at the end of the Timberwolves' bench to a starter and fantasy star in recent weeks, posting double-doubles in four of the last five games while Nikola Pekovic (ankle) has been out.
Dieng's 22-point, 21-rebound outburst against Houston last Thursday moved him into rare air among first-year NBA players, as he became only the fourth rookie with a 20-point, 20-rebound game over the last 20 years.
