Teams most affected by rule changes

While in the past handchecking, checking cutters and the use of the arm bar was allowed in college basketball, those actions are now considered fouls. And if coaches don’t adjust accordingly, their teams will be at a competitive disadvantage. You can’t win a game if your best players are in foul trouble or if you shoot fewer free throws than your opponent.

Coaches will have to re-evaluate their defensive philosophy and principals to fit the new world of college basketball. What differences should fans expect to see in 2013-14?
