One of the hottest players on the travel team circuit this spring who started under the radar but is definitely on the rise is Class of 2014 point guard Lance Tejada Jr. (Pompano Beach, Fla./Blanche Ely).
Tejada, a three-star prospect who stands 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, performed at an extremely high level at April's Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions, where he averaged 23 points per game and also did a good job getting his teammates involved. Tejada's understanding and feel for the game in addition to his pinpoint passing and excellent court vision were also impressive.
After the Bob Gibbons TOC, Tejada received offers from Florida State and Murray State and strong interest from UConn in addition to the offers he already had from Miami (Fla.), Alabama, Virginia, Florida International, Central Florida, South Florida, George Mason and Rider. He already has a feel for what he is looking for in a coach and school.
