Two prospects' competition turns heads

BABSON PARK, Mass. -- The third annual Scholar Roundball Classic played host to some of the top academic prep schools in the Northeast. With a plethora of coaches filing into Babson College’s Staake Gymnasium on both Saturday and Sunday, it was the head-to-head battle between two up-and-coming frontcourt prospects that proved to be the weekend’s main attraction.

Sunday’s matchup between Tabor Academy (Marion, Mass.) and Kimball Union Academy (Meriden, N.H.) saw 2015 big man Jarred Reuter (Rochester, Mass./Tabor) go head to head with ESPN 60 PF Abdul-Malik Abu (Boston/Kimball Union). Maryland’s Mark Turgeon, Kansas State’s Bruce Weber, Notre Dame’s Mike Brey, Connecticut’s Kevin Ollie, Providence’s Ed Cooley, Boston College’s Steve Donahue and Davidson’s Bob McKillop along with assistants from Pittsburgh and Stanford were on hand to watch the clash.
