Best of the Fairfax State Preview

LOS ANGELES -- Fairfax head coach Harvey Kitani did another outstanding job of assembling a field chock full of talent this past weekend at the Fairfax State Preview Classic.

Each game had at least a couple of Division I recruits, while most were littered with prospects -- especially the St. John Bosco tilt with Los Angeles Loyola. St. John Bosco sophomore guard Tyler Dorsey, a slick 6-foot-4 scorer, backed up his lofty No. 15 ranking in the ESPN 25 with a scintillating performance of 24 points and 15 rebounds.

Here were the top performers at the Fairfax State Preview Classic.

Best Scorer

Tyler Dorsey (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco)

2015, SG, 6-4, 170

Status: Claims offers from Arizona, UConn, Florida, Oregon State, Cal, Washington State, Fresno State and UNLV.

Dorsey has had a reputation for quite sometime despite his youth. He is a straight-line driver who can blow by his defenders with the dribble and either get to the rim or raise up and nail the pull-up jump shot. He is a crafty scorer in the paint and has excellent body control. His 3-point shot is solid when he is on balance, and his overall feel for the game has improved.
