Class of 2015 power forward Shawntrez Davis (East Point, Ga./Tri-Cities) is turning heads with his consistent high level of play this season and his recruiting has taken off as a result.
The 6-foot-8, 205-pound Davis is averaging 20 points, 17 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and around 4.0 assists a game this season and has recorded a double-double in all but two games this season. Davis’ maturity and game have continued to improve at a steady rate.
Davis list offers from Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Tennessee, Purdue and Maryland in addition to serious interest from Florida State, SMU and West Virginia.
"I have been scoring in the post, in transition and at the free throw line because I have been able to draw a lot of fouls,” Davis said. “My rebounding has mostly come from my area, but I have gotten a few out of area rebounds (as well)."
Davis, who will run with Game Elite on the travel circuit this spring, adopts a scout’s mentality when it comes to breaking down his game.
"I run the floor very well and rebound aggressively,” he says. “My go to move in the post is the up-and-under then power up for the dunk. My counter move is the left hand jump hook. I have to keep working on making moves off the dribble and improving my midrange jumper."
Davis has a great frame to build upon and as he continues to add to his already very production game; expect his stock to continue to rise.
