Hoop Summit: Five things we learned

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The World team beat the U.S. team 112-98 on Saturday at the 16th Nike Hoop Summit game played at the Rose Garden. The game annually matches the best high school seniors from the United States against the top 19-and-under international players.

This marked the World team’s first back-to-back wins since the event started. There is a bit of good news looking ahead to next year for Team USA, however. I spoke with Jahlil Okafor, ESPN’s No. 1-ranked prospect in the 2014 class, who said, “I will take that game very seriously and we will be ready to compete and represent our country.”

As for this year’s event, after watching a couple of days of practice and the game, here are five things we learned from the 2013 Nike Hoop Summit.
