Scout's Take: ESPN 100 SF Okeke picks Auburn

Four star small forward Chuma Okeke committed to head coach Bruce Pearl and the Auburn Tigers on Sunday over offers from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Florida, LSU, Clemson and Mississippi State, among others. Okeke is ranked No. 57 in the ESPN 100.

Let's take a look at what Okeke will bring to Auburn.

Why he committed: Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl and his staff have made the state of Georgia -- and more specifically the Atlanta metropolitan area -- a huge recruiting priority. Also Okeke and his family like the consistent recruiting style and family approach of Pearl in addition to Auburn being close to home so family and friends can see Okeke play.

What he brings: At 6-foot-8 and 221 pounds, Okeke is a combo forward who brings versatility to both ends of the floor. He is a strong finisher on the break whether he is sprinting the lane or rim running down the center of the floor. In the halfcourt set Okeke does a great job slashing along the wing and baseline in order to get to the rim where he does a nice job finishing through contact. He can post smaller defenders and hit the mid range jumper off the catch or make a play with his ability to roll or pop in ball screen actions. He is a good rebounder and has the size and athletic ability to defend both forward positions. Okeke simply creates match up problems on both ends of the floor which he knows how to take full advantage of.
